high spirits bar
I went to Redmon's to check out Lexington's nightlife, as a visitor from another state. The place (Redmon's) is definitely a happening spot! The crowd is superhomogenous in looks, age, dress, etc., but still certainly know how to have fun. Larry Redmon and his other country singer colleague have a way of connecting intimately with their audience. Only slight downside is that, about an hour before closing, Larry drops the original country tunes, and spends the rest of the time only singing familiar and famous rock tunes, with a slight country hue. Also, another downside is that Larry ends up singing many of the same songs as his colleague who apparently functions as his warm-up act. Finally personally, I felt it weird how they have a gigantic confederate flag roll down toward the end, while Larry sings his last songs. Does that have to be? However, except for these bits, it's a really high-spirited and fun place to go!
