DOWNTOWN.   An historic building, right across from Triangle Park, sets the scene for this downtown mainstay, whose interior boasts a traditional, genteel Victorian charm. Amid jewel-toned appointments, diners indulge in prime rib, one of the city's best hot browns, roasted pork loin, Maryland crab cakes, Kentucky outback shrimp (grilled, then dressed in spicy tomato sauce), and sugar spiced char-grilled salmon (glazed with raspberry almond butter). Private rooms and a full bar add to the restaurant's appeal.   (© 10Best)

Never again
We have only been here once after hearing from so many people how wonderful it was. Those people need to get out more. The restaurant was incredibly crowded when we went, so much so that you could not get in or our of your seat because you were wedged against the people at the next table. The service was terribly slow and when our food finally arrived, some entrees did not arrive until others had already finished eating. In addition, some meals were cold and had clearly been laying around for a while. The food was bland, and definitely nothing to write home about. Once was more than enough.

DeSha's has one thing going for them: they have a great hot brown (I'm not being funny, it's an open faced sandwich). However, our neighbors to the south would describe the rest of the menu as, "no bueno." Location is great though. right across the street from rupp arena which is right down town but there are forty other restaurants with much better food within walking distance. Go elsewhere. As another option, I recommend Dudley's which is literally a quarter mile away and very very good
