Love Jean Farris
Probably our favorite restaurant in town. They have a beautiful patio and fantastic food. Their dinner's are wonderful but on the pricier side. Their brunch, however, is the best I have had in Lexington.

Amazing...everything
My girlfriend and I took an overnight trip to Lexington to visit a few vineyards and stumbled upon this treasure of a place. We had found it online before our trip and honestly hadn't decided on going until multiple people recommended it. What we got was a real treat!
We initially went just to do a wine tasting and leave. We didn't go anywhere else for the rest of the night. We started sampling their "Classic Whites" (6 samples for $7). As we progressed through the samples, each one was better than the last. The staff was very knowledgeable and eager to discuss wine. We also ordered a cheese plate (which came with a few other goodies) that was outstanding.
After our tasting we ordered a few glasses of wine ($4/glass) and discussed which bottles of wine we were going to purchase (none of the four bottles we purchased exceeded $20...a great value!). We took a look at the menu and decided to stay for dinner. We both got Chicken Chardonnay and Crème brûlée and were blown away by the meal.
We live in Cincinnati and will most definitely be visiting this winery again as soon as we can make a trip!
Recommended to any and all wine drinkers.

My husband and I attended a holiday party for a large professional group in 12/06 at Jean Farris. It was to include appetizers and a sit-down meal, along with beverages/wine. We were literally stuffed into a small tent on the side of the building with propane heaters. It was almost impossible to get anything to drink except the wine...finally, after multiple attempts, a small amount of water was brought out. The service was terrible. The appetizers did not make it out until 8:45pm (party started at 6:30pm). They started with oil/herbs and dry "melba" toast rounds and slowly and awkwardly progressed to dry "melba" toast rounds with a variety of not-so-good toppings. We left at 9:15pm, even before dinner was served, because we were so hungry/thirsty we had gotten sick! I honestly can't understand how this place stays in business if the food, service and catering abilities are as they were that night. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.
Just a note...Lexington has so many fabulous restaurants, many that I would rate a 5 star...go to them instead.
