Given the region's lushness, it's not surprising that produce and locally-grown goods find such favor and reception in Lexington. This seasonal market brings to town all the best of the provinces, from fresh fruits and vegetables to preserved and canned products. The South Broadway and Maxwell market takes place Tuesday and Thursday; a companion market on West Vine is held every Saturday. Sunday exhibitions are on-hand at Southland Drive and in the Hamburg area near Half Price Books.

In the midst of downtown is this multi-level shopping center, carved from a cluster of historical brick buildings. Inside, mosaic tilework floors, iron filigree balustrades, and pressed metal ceilings recall the structure's original era. Professional offices on upper floors share space with art galleries, specialty shops, boutiques, restaurants, and upscale clothing stores for men, women, and children. Great for browsing, the complex also houses local dining mainstay, deSha's.
