This unique floating restaurant features an elegant, wood-paneled inner room and an attractive, flower-filled deck perfect for dining in good weather. Mediterranean dishes and seafood are the specialties of the house...or the specialties of the ship, that is. Try the famous seafood platter, the paella, or choose from among 40 varieties of seafood. Occasionally, music and entertainment are featured, and the traditional Sunday lunch is popular.

Serving 12 years of TERRIBLE service
I first visited the Barge on the Brayford when I first moved to Lincoln at the age of 9. I don't recall much about the food, which says something in itself, but what I do recall from this experience is that we waited 2 hours for our food and a further hour for the bill.
12 years later I thought I'd give it another bash for Sunday lunch with my mum and grandmother, sadly the service we recieved was worse than I remember.
Having booked a table 5 days earlier we arrived at the restaurant to find that they had made a mistake with our reservation and had us written down for half an hour earlier than agreed. Consequently our table had been given away and the solution offered was to disembark my 78 year old grandmother with crippling arthritus (it had been hard enough to get her up the steps to begin with) and sit outside for an unspecified amount of time until a table became available.
Having travelled from London to Lincoln for the specific purpose of taking my family out for a rare meal together, this was disappointing to say the least. The couldn't-care-less attitude of the staff and their unwillingness to accept their mistake (trying to blame me) was enough to have me march back in and give them a piece of my mind in front of the diners - to which I received a 'thanks for that'.
And the life time achievement award for worst customer service goes to.....

What a great experience. Seafood is excellent, staff are friendly and give a good standard of service. The food is mouth watering. Will be going back again an again. Well worth the forty-mile trip from were I live.
