7. Palácio Nacional de Queluz

QUELUZ. Known as the "little Versailles," this stately palace hails from the 17th century, having been the former residence of Marques de Castelo Rodrigo. Later incarnations included a tour as the summer home for Portuguese royalty, as well as the residence of Maria I. Lavishly Baroque interior remains a testament to a bygone era. Especially striking is the throne room – a concert hall during the Sintra Classical Music Festival.   (© 10Best)
