This historic site is the landmark of Arkansas's 1957 Integration Crisis. In 1957, Central was the largest high school in America and the scene of a bitter desegregation struggle, when nine black students enrolled under the protection of federal troops. Across the street, do not miss the painstakingly restored vintage Mobil gas station that serves as the Central High Museum Center.
