FLEET STREET. Dating to the 1870s, El Vino has a legitimate claim as "London's oldest wine bar" and is an easy favorite of Fleet Street oenophiles. Refined in an Old World way (seen in the regular crowd's tendency to dress in their Sunday best), El Vino features more than 150 bottles, including an Australian Riesling, 1985 Chateau Latour, and delightful house wine. Once your whistle has been satisfactorily wetted, head downstairs for kidney pie, steak or the market-fresh catch of the day. El Vino also holds an off-license, allowing patrons to get their alcohol to go if they so choose.
