MAYFAIR.   Fresh flowers, modern art, soothing burgundy walls, and candlelight serve only to enhance Philip Howard's artistically presented French cuisine at The Square. Dishes show a light, contemporary touch, and the tasting menu is the best – and most affordable – way to experience the luscious cuisine. Among the menu's treats are lasagne of Devon crab with a shellfish cappuccino and champagne foam followed by herb-crusted saddle of lamb with shallot puree, artichokes, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Gorgeous French food and courteous welcoming staff. Well chosen wine and recommendation was 'spot on'. Tables not too close. Beautiful room with striking modern but tasteful decor.

Excellent, elegant experience. Definitely reserve well in advance- the tasting menu is the way to go at The Square- nice selection of specialties and not too much to overwhelm you- serving sizes are just right! Highly recommend (and I'm an ex-original mystery traveler for 10best)...
