St. Columb's Cathedral is one of the most prominent buildings in the city. Located just inside the city walls and atop one of the highest areas in the city, the church has always been a strategic treasure. During the Great Siege of 1688, it was used as a defensive stronghold. Many prominent citizens are buried in the adjoining cemetery, whose headstones were laid flat after the Great Siege to protect them. Inside, you'll find beautiful stained-glass windows and stone arches. Call for a tour.
