This impressive-looking building, located just outside the city walls near Shipquay Gate, is one of the more dominant fixtures in Derry. The original Guildhall was built in 1890, but burned to the ground in 1908. The new building, which contains several stained glass windows, is a neo-Gothic building, and was restored and reopened in the 1970s. Today it is the seat of Derry City Council, but there are tours during the summer. (© 10Best) More Details for GuildhallHours: Mon 9am-5pm Type: Historic Sites |
