4. Blue Point Brewing Company

PATCHOGUE.   Located on the south shore, this little blue-sided building may not look like much, but don't let appearances fool you – Blue Point produces some of the best microbrewed beer on Long Island. The building, actually an old ice cream factory from the '30s, is open for tours, allowing visitors to meet brewmasters, learn about the brewing process, and see the red-brick brew kettle, fermenters, and massive storage tanks. After the tour, a visit to the tasting room is a must. Keep your eyes peeled for news of any festivals the brewery hosts, including the Babaloo Music Festival, which features great bands and, of course, ice-cold Blue Point brews!   (© 10Best)
