PORT JEFFERSON.   Looking for a cool, groovy place to sip martinis and listen to live music? This Port Jefferson nightspot may be right up your alley. A bar serves as the room's focal point (as it should be) and is surrounded by a stylish interior that includes sponge-painted walls, pendant lighting, and comfortable pieces of furniture. Fridays and Saturdays feature everything from traditional jazz and blues performers to folks specializing in old school R&B and funk. Expect a fashionable, mixed crowd.   (© 10Best)

Good PLace - lil' loud
Saw Big Shot- Billy Joel Tribute band- they were ecellent, why did they play only 50% Bill songs? PLace is cool, gets crowded and loud but for out east in the winter it hits the spot like a cup o noodles bowl and Tab... place is worth returning to...

I have to respectfully disagree with the editor on this one. We've been to this place a bunch of times, and my experience everytime is spoiled by the fact that we always end up paying a fat cover at the door (last night it was $12) and then we pay new york city prices for drinks with no such thing as a buy-back. Generally they have "live music" in the form of a cheesy wedding band playing covers in a mediocre way and at an unreasonable volume. When we left, I had a pounding headache from having to yell over the music all night, and our entire groups of friends was praying for a set break at the end of every song. I'd describe the crowd as a mix of middle-aged people and young professionals. I agree with the editor's review about the decor, but that means nothing when the experience is miserable.
