3. Black Forest Brew Haus

FARMINGDALE.   This German-styled alehouse uses 200-year-old recipes to produce some of the best micro-brewed beer in the land. The decor is distinctly Old Country, featuring dark woods, dim lighting, and a stone fireplace. Adding to the place's popularity is the hearty mix of American and traditional German dishes – burgers, potato-quilted filet mignon, sauerbraten, pork rippchen, and Black Forest chicken with spaetzle.
