4. Brickhouse Brewery & Restaurant

PATCHOGUE.   Located on the corner of Havens and Main, this cozy brewery is just right for a historic little town like Patchogue, which dates from the latter half of the 18th century. The building that houses the brewery is itself a piece of history, having served as a hardware store and a stop on the Underground Railroad. The owners maintain the building's original charm with exposed brick walls, historical murals, and walls adorned with beer paraphernalia. The place is far more than mere atmosphere, though, thanks to a fabulous lineup of house-brewed beers and a selection of tasty pub fare.   (© 10Best)

PLUSES: The beer is always great, Blues night and all the other music is terrific and the building itself is just a fantastic place to be. MINUSSES: Lack of beer knowledge by the bar and wait staff is frustrating. Service has been very slow on my last two visits for dinner. I was not greeted by a server upon being seated and finally I was so thirsty I had to get up and go to the bar to get a drink. This was the hostess's fault, not the server.

Very friendly servers. Great beer and food. Very reasonable prices and kids eat free Monday. How good is that?
