Oyster Festival

OYSTER BAY. At this large culinary festival, attendees devour seafood delicacies like oysters on the half shell, oyster stew, clam fritters, calamari, shrimp cocktail and seafood gumbo – all of it prepared by 30 different vendors. Watch the heartiest appetites vie for honors in the festival's signature the oyster eating and shucking competition, and be sure to see the L'il Miss Oyster Contest and seafood cooking competitions as well. Fair rides, craft vendors, clowns and live bands enhance the celebration.
