HUNTINGTON.   Piccolo is billed as delivering fabulous Italian fare with a heavy splash of American flair, but it's so much more than that. For starters, the dining room features contemporary decor and relies heavily on European influences, from its rich woodwork and mahogany bar to smartly appointed, candle-lit tables. From there, the impressive wine list and sterling menu steal the show, as do dishes like pan-seared striped bass with orange-ginger broth and Long Island duck with sun-dried cherry demi-glace.
