GLEN COVE.   La Pace lets diners experience Old World elegance, thanks to a Tuscan-styled dining room, professional service, and creative kitchen whose dishes capture the heart and soul (not to mention the aromas and flavors) of Italian-Med cuisine. Menu stalwarts include homemade cavatelli with shrimp and chickpeas, orange roughy with potato crust and red wine, and saddle of rabbit with cabbage salad and sweet potato. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.   (© 10Best)

I visited the La Pace Rest. for valentines day 2009 and I was very disappointed with the food. I would rate the food in the same category as a bad catering hall dining experience. At $75.00 a person they start you off with an app. I chose the baked clams. The clams came on a dish with 5 little indentations on it so each clam has its own position in the plate but our plate only had 4 clams on them with one indentation left open?? So in my opinion we were ripped off of a clam each person. Then they call this an italian based restaurant?? There wasn't one dish on the menu that was italian themed or based. My surf and turf was suppose to come with a filet mignon steak, instead i got a slab of meat that looked like a prime rib bloody as all heck when i ordered it medium well. and 3 small baby shrimp oregano. Now thats what they call SURF and TURF??? After the bill came I felt like I was just robbed!!!!!! $75.00 a person . I will never go back to that place even if the food was free.... 2 other customers that were with me ended up getting sick that night also.. BEWARE
