HAMPTON BAYS.   Since 1972, this neighborhood pizza joint has been seeing to cravings for hand-tossed pies, heaping plates of pasta, and fresh fish and seafood. In addition to scrumptious Sicilian pizza (a perennial fave!), John's prepares specialty pies topped with everything from spicy chicken to meatballs, fresh tomatoes, and basil. Wooden booths and tiled walls give the original seating area a diner feel; meanwhile, a newer room off to the side features a handful of tables, Old Country posters, a wine rack, and even a Roman-themed mural.
