SEAFORD.   You may not link the word "catfish" to eating out on Long Island, but after visiting this surprising place, you'll likely change your mind. The intimate environs are reminiscent of an old-fashioned supper club or speakeasy – pressed-tin ceilings, hurricane lamps, and brown walls. The menu, however, is anything but dated, and the New American lineup includes Chilean sea bass with orange-ginger glaze, shrimp scampi with penne, and the homey house specialty: baked catfish stuffed with crawfish and cornbread. First off... they've moved! It wasn't easy but we finally tracked Catfish Max down! We found it on Naomi St. in Seaford about a mile or so west of the Adler Ct. address. My husband and I enjoyed our dinners (he had the black angus steak that was fork tender & a big enough portion that he enjoyed 'steak & eggs' for breakfast the next morning) I thoroughly enjoyed the soft shell crabs (a special) that was sauteed perfectly. The delicious fare combined with the attentive service and a perfect waterview, is why Catfish Max has become our new favorite Long Island restaurant!
