PORT WASHINGTON. Here, at one of Main Street's more serene dining spots, Mr. Yamaguchi and crew achieve gold medals from local critics for deliciously creative fare and laid-back attitude. Indeed, this is the type of place wherein folks find it easy to get comfortable and stay a while, taking in the authentic Japanese artwork and enjoying handmade sushi and sashimi prepared at the oak bar. All dishes are artfully composed, from broiled eel with kabayaki sauce to Chilean sea bass marinated in soy bean paste. Reservations are suggested.
