HOLLYWOOD ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT.   This, Hollywood's oldest restaurant, opened in 1919 and still serves traditional fare. The classics are a way of life, in fact, and, to M&F's thinking, martinis never went out of style. The ambience is pure mid-century Hollywood heyday, and the gracious staff is part and parcel of the atmosphere. Try any of the seafood entrees or steaks, and you won't be disappointed. Calf's liver with bacon and onions is a local favorite as well. Breakfast dishes are served all day long, and butter-drizzled flannel cakes (pancakes) are worth the calories.
