STUDIO CITY.
At this storefront eatery, you'll be treated to fresh, delicious sushi and good service. One quirk, however, is that the chef, although a master at his craft, has a reputation for being a bit demanding – both of himself and of diners. Folks are expected to order from the menu only and to obey arbitrary rules of dining, like eating a piece of sushi in a single mouthful. It's not unheard of for rule-breakers to be asked to leave. Your best bet is to sit at the bar, not request anything extraneous, and let the chef dole out what he deems appropriate. If you accept such idiosyncracies, you'll find traditional Japanese cuisine at its absolute best.

Sushi Nozawa
Hands down this is the best Sushi in L.A. If you are going for atmosphere and some really extravagant rolls, this is not for you. Chef Nozawa, does the traditional style of sushi. Sashimi, Nagiri, and Hand rolls. I don’t know where he gets his fish buts it’s amazing. Some of the pieces he serves w/ these delicate sauces like a chili ponzu, awesome. It is definitely going to cost $$$, but if you are really want to try great sushi check this place out.

Rip off!
My boyfriend and I went to this place on a recommendation. Never again! The atmosphere is cold and unfriendly, the servers seem annoyed to serve you, and there are all these "trust me" signs around the room. We wondered why at first, but then when we got our bill we found out why. It's insanely expensive. I'm sorry, but no sushi is good enough to justify $150+ for two people - and we weren't even full when we left!

We live in Alexandria VA and our son has raved about Sishi Nozawa for several years. We were lucky enough to go last Friday for lunch. We sat at the bar and let the owner serve us our lunch. Best sushi I have ever had. John was correct when he said just sit there and eat what you are served. If he puts sauce on it do not add you own. We had no problems following directions. Can hardly wait for him to open a Sushi Nozawa in the Washington DC area.
