We had dinner at the Border Grill in Santa Monica on Saturday evening; I was VERY dissapointed in the meal as well as the service. All three of us ordered steak and all three were too much fatty...I wasted more than half. Mary Sue made an appearance, but was selective of the tables she visited. The best part of the meal were the Margaritas. We left feeling like we had just been ripped off!

The Border Grill is one of my favorite Santa Monica restaurants. It has a great party atmosphere, and something on the menu will appeal to even the most finicky eaters. My friends and family from out of town react with sheer delight when they see the decor and are completely wowed by the food.

Overall, the Border was an enjoyable experience. Casual, yet cool with warm decor. The food was a little disappointing--somewhat bland and unremarkable. Our waiter kept disappearing and drink orders took about 15 minutes.
