PASADENA.   Renaissance decor, faux Roman artifacts, and the soft, soothing sounds of live piano music combine to create an upscale Mediterranean dining experience at this classic West Colorado Boulevard steakhouse. Window tables offer full views of the Pasadena skyline, an attractive backdrop for a romantic dinner. House specialties include a 12-ounce filet, Maine lobster, duck, and rack of lamb. I ate the Filet Mignon (12 oz, cooked medium) with peppercorn sauce, and Garlic Mashed Potatos. The Filet Mignon (which was $38, excluding tax!!!!) was so awful that I had to comment on how awful it was on the receipt. .....OVER PRICED, AWFUL FOOD, NO PARKING.

I recently dined at JJ's with a fairly large party (15). The whole experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the initial shock (pleasant) of this beautifully decorated restaurant, or the wonderful attention from the hostesses, managers, and servers, to the perfectly prepared filet mignon and appetizers. To add to our evening, we found our old friend Bill Maldonado from the old "Maldonado's Restaurant" playing his Steinway. I highly recommend JJ's to anyone that appreciates fine dining.
