About 10Best's Los Angeles Restaurants Selections:

Confronted with the city's mind-boggling assortment of restaurants, it's fair to ask, "Does Los Angeles have a quintessential cuisine?" From top-notch regional creations to the lowliest hamburger stand, you can find practically any type of fare within a relatively small radius. Spago and Lucques are superb choices for fresh Californian fare, offering perfectly prepared dishes, elegant surroundings, and near-flawless service. Naturally, the international gamut of restaurants can be found in LA. Pristine sushi is a specialty, and Matsuhisa and Sushi Nozawa serve melt-in-your-mouth raw eats most nights of the week. Continental cuisine is another of the city's strengths. Find French fare at Mélisse and Frenchy's Bistro, or try gourmet Italian at Piccolo and Angelini Osteria. Great Mexican food is also a staple, from high-end establishments like Tlapazola Grill to no-frills godsends like Guelaguetza. Of course, sometimes only an In-N-Out burger will do, and fortunately there's an abundance of locations in the metro area. While Los Angeles might not have a famous food it calls its own, the variety and depth of its dining scene means you can find your favorite cuisine done right, usually only a few minutes away.

Walk into what feels and looks like a cafe straight from Italy. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy and the chef has weekly specials that vary from butternut squash and spinach rolled with pasta and cooked in his delicious brown butter sage sauce to filet mignon with port sauce. The food is amazing and all cooked by the chef himself, who is from Northern Italy. They have lots of organic selections and know how to make vegetarians and vegans feel at home also! The tiramisu is to die for and you will leave happy, especially if the chef comes out to say hello, as he often does. Did I mention they have excellent coffee, too? This has been my favorite restaurant for three years!
