4. Two Cabos Bike Race

The Buzz -- The height of summer in Mexico may not seem like the bests time to stage a bike race. But this July event is extremely popular among locals, and a lot of fun to watch. Contestants start at the town square in San Jose del Cabo, and follow the Carretera Transpeninsular (Highway 1) all the way to Cabo San Lucas near the Toro Stadium. You can watch the race anywhere along the route – two lanes of the highway are closed off for the duration, and there are plenty of places along the way to set up a little viewing station for yourself.
