SAN JOSE DEL CABO.   Baan Thai's teak and bamboo furniture, tropical plants and candlelight blend together in an evocative representation of a faraway country, an effect further enhanced by the eclectic Pan-Asian menu. Taking cues from the cultures of Indonesia, Thailand, Laos and China, chef Carl Marts prepares a variety of excellent dishes. Starters like chicken satay with a piquant peanut sauce, seafood dumplings dipped in a mustard-soy sauce, and lively Tom Kha Gai Soup will make taste buds take notice.
