5. La Trattoria Ristorante

CABO SAN LUCAS.   Sorrento-born owner Ciro DiMaio has a true winner on his hands with this traditional Italian restaurant, open since 1994. Although the interior is charmingly decorated and comfortable, if you have kids you'll want to sit out on the patio near the wood-burning pizza oven – little eyes will be fascinated watching the pizza-making process. Pastas here are excellent, whether simply prepared as in angel hair with tomatoes and basil, or complex as in Linguine alla Puttanesca with capers, olives and anchovies in red sauce. The veal piccata with its light lemon-wine-caper sauce is a great choice, but if you prefer something bolder try the Medaglione alla Grande Enrico, beef medallions in red wine sauce with anchovies.   (© 10Best)
