The falls boast the only naturally exposed fossil beds in the entire 981-mile Ohio River. The inspiration for much of John James Audubon's work, the 220 acres of land are inhabited by more than 125 species of fish and 265 bird species. Visitors can enjoy hiking and picnicking in the park; the views from the Interpretive Center are awesome.

The Iroquois Park offers tennis and basketball courts, horseback riding, picnic tables, a walking trail, and scenic outlooks. The park also has an amphitheater where various entertainment events are held and an 18-hole golf course.
