Elizabeth Kizito, a native of Kampala, Uganda, greets customers with a smile as large as one of her homemade cookies at Kizito Cookies. She came to Louisville in 1978.

African native Elizabeth Namusoke Kizito has preserved her family's exceptional dessert recipes. Phenomenal cookies and gigantic muffins are handmade daily and freshly packaged from the oven. Brownies are made from scratch, topped with semi-sweet chocolate chips or a medley of English walnuts and pecans.   (© 10Best)
