Saint Mary of the Angels, a former convent church, was occupied by the Franciscan order of nuns until the mid-19th century. Three impressive frescoes by the Lombard painter, Bernardino Luini, have been likened to the work of Leonardo da Vinci. The powerful images depict the Madonna with the Infant Jesus, the Last Supper, and the Passion and Crucifixion of Christ.   (© 10Best)
