6. Parco Civico

This magnificent city park is a natural haven located in the heart of the city along Lake Lugano. It is the site of the convention center, Palazzo dei Congressi, the Villa Ciani art museum, and the Casino. More than a thousand varieties of roses, magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons, and azaleas along with unique shrubbery and cacti fill the beautifully landscaped grounds.   (© 10Best)

Lugano's Parco Civico is more than a breath of fresh Ticino air but rather a paseo of the transcendental hip. A plethora of botanicals offer shelter from the dockside rentals and street merchants; the gelato is decadent, the views (and timepieces) are inspirational, the denizens are friendly in Italian, English and German.
