1. Ancien Palais de Justice

The old, impressive Palais de Justice was built on the banks of the Saone River between 1835 and 1845. Its architect, L.P. Baltard, gave it the look of a Greco-Roman temple, as classical antiquity was in-style for architecture during his time. This neo-classical establishment has 24 fluted columns, Corinthian capitals and a monumental staircase.
