Don't go to this rundown-looking roadside joint expecting gaudy decor or flashy themes ... it's quite clear from the parking lot that none of that is going on. No, what sets Thomas Pit apart from cookie-cutter BBQ joints is its consistently great homestyle eats. The barbecue is smoked (onsite, mind you) to perfection, from pulled pork to chicken and ribs. What's more, side dishes like homemade coleslaw will leave you busting at the seams. And this being the Deep South, the folks at Thomas Pit take their sweet tea seriously!
