7. Peppino's

DOWNTOWN.   Sometimes, there's just nothing like the standards, and luckily for Madison, Peppino's has a knack for the tried-and-true. The restaurant began decades ago as a pet project for Sicilian immigrant brothers and has evolved into one of the city's favorites for good Italian cuisine. Veal, lobster, pastas, and swordfish are treated to established culinary techniques and come out invariably delicious.
