WEST.   An institution with sports fans and locals since 1946, this neighborhood diner is a throw-back to past days. Short-order cooking produces fantastic burgers, and malts are a house specialty. Breakfast, especially, draws in folks, including UW athletes. They come for enormous pancakes or scramblers, which are eggs stirred up with meat, served over fried potatoes and topped with melted cheese and brown gravy. I've only been once. It's a cute, homey setting. But they served the WORST pancakes I've ever had in my life--doughy, undercooked and flavorless. I'd like to go back and try something different because nothing else could possibly be as bad as those pancakes.

There food was amazing! It was such an awesome experience we came just before the rush, staff was friendly and helpful. The food was soooo good that we came back the next day for breakfast before we left for back home. I would really recommend it, its just basic food but so much better!
