3. Museo Arqueológico Nacional

SALAMANCA.   This museum houses hundreds of small pieces of history. One of the most amazing exhibits is a fourth century BC Iberian statue of the Lady of Elche. There are Islamic and Roman collections, as well. The time period stretches all the way to the Baroque period and the Spanish Renaissance. The museum contains many pieces that came originally from monasteries and churches. METRO: Serrano or Retiro
