best flamenco in madrid
When I decided to study abroad in Spain, I wanted to experience as much Spanish culture as possible. Naturally Flamenco was something I wanted to see. I happened to go to El Corral de la Moreria and I highly recommend it! It is the oldest and most famous tablao in Madrid and it is well known among celebrates and royalty, such as Natalie Portman, Frank Sinatra, the King and Queen of Spain, Ernest Hemingway and many more. And the flamenco was amazing! The entire audience was enraptured from the first notes of the spanish guitar to the final stomp of the flamenco dancer´s heel. Before the show started, my friend and I ate an amazing dinner! I had roasted vegetables, leg of lamb and sorbet. It was the best food I have tasted since I left my home and my mother´s home cooking (she is an amazing cook). Although it is not a cheap experience, flamenco at El Corral de la Moreria is definitely something everyone should experience at least once in their life!

I am studying abroad in madrid right now and had the opportunity to go Corral de la Morería last wednesday. IT WAS SPECTACULAR!!! I couldn´t believe how passionate and energetic the dancers and even the crowd were! there were about 5 women flamenco dancers and one VERY attractive male dancer. but it wasn´t only dancing. they had several flamenco vocalists and guitarists. I had seen a show in granada which was fun, but Corral had some of the best flamenco I have ever seen and you absolutely get your money´s worth. You should definately call to make reservations just to make sure because I was there on a wednesday and it was PACKED. To get there you can get off at the La Latina OR Opera metro stop. plus you get a free drink with entrance!

I visited Corral de la Moreria, and had an amazing time! I highly, highly recommend it to anyone who will be traveling to Spain in future. Just one thing that I wanted to clear up for those looking for the club: it's actually at the OPERA metro stop, not La Latina- so don't get lost on the way! : ) The best is to call and make reservations ahead of time, and you can ask for directions then. I hope that everyone has a chance to make it there- Enjoy!!
