SALAMANCA.   Founded in 1963, this is traditional Basque at its best. Great cream of crab soup, grilled shrimp and brill in a green sauce are just a few of the specialties Alkalde has been serving for decades. Upstairs tavern with downstairs dining that resembles an old tavern with exposed beams and hams hanging from the rafters. METRO: Retiro   (© 10Best)

I had "Barbecued Baby Lamb". It was tasteless. As far as I could tell it had been boiled before being passed over the barbecue. The lamb itself was long passed the point of being a baby.

Fresh seafood cooked to perfection. The bacalao was to die for!
