CENTRO. With 12 spaces, this club – in a historic castle ballroom – offers a diverse range of cabaret, performances, dance classes in tango and waltz and music of all stripes. Great international-themed events on Thursday nights. Perfect stop for the all-night party. METRO: Ópera or Sol

This rocking discothèque is a great place to hang out with the locals during the week and blend in with the tourists on the weekends. Pachá provides a steady stream of people with whom to talk or dance. There's a constant stream of music, and the dance floors are always packed. METRO: Tribunal.

This club hosts some of the best and most authentic flamenco in Spain. Famous groups and debut talent sometimes share the same stage. Regardless, the show is incredible. Dancers sometimes socialize with patrons, so stick around after the show. The club also includes a restaurant and bar. METRO: Antón Martín

CENTRO. Joy Eslava is frequented by models and musicians alike. The cover charge may be a little expensive, but hipsters consider it worthwhile. Dance 'til dawn to Spanish chart hits and the odd bit of flamenco. METRO: Puerta del Sol

ATOCHA. METRO: ATOCHA Kapital stacks seven parties onto as many floors. Two disco levels keep the tunes thumping and crowds gyrating, while the karaoke bar caters to crooners. Kapital's the liberal sort of venue where anything goes – except sneakers, which won't make it past the velvet rope.
