"Tonight I had the most disturbing experience with a restaraunt ever with La Carreta in Manchester.
We placed a take-out order for our party of five. In addition to our entrees we asked for three orders of refried beans. When we picked up our order and returned home, the three orders of beans had mistakenly been replaced with three orders of rice. This turns out to have been the fifth (yes fifth) time in a row we had a take out order from this location messed up; always with the side orders. With each previous error I had returned to the restaraunt and been cheerfully served the correct order. However; tonight being a bitter cold night and our guests waiting for dinner, I instead called La Carreta and explained the error and how this was the fifth such incident in a row for us. I explained how much we loved their restaraunt and that we would continue to patronize them, but they obviously had a problem with their take-out service. Rudely, I was told that we had ordered rice. I explained that I had listened to my son as he placed the order and that we had not ordered rice but refried beans. The woman I was speaking with insisted I was mistaken, I asked to speak to the manager. I was then hung up on. I called back and again asked for a manager. When he got on I again tried to explain how much we enjoyed La Caretta but they had a problem with take-out orders. He tried to ask me to come in and pick up a new order of beans. I explained I was trying to alert him to an issue with their take out. I cannot imagine I am the only person that had received erroneous take-out orders after experiencing five in a row. He hung up on me. I then asked my son, fluent in Spanish, to call and convey our concerns. He was greeted with a hurried reference to the corporate web site. We go to the web site and find it has been down since December. I then called again and asked the woman I had originally spoken with about the rice orders being removed from my debit card bill and their offer of a twenty dollar gift certificate. She confirmed these previous offers and I again explained my concern with their take-out service and how I felt may affect their business and asked to again speak with the manager. She again hung up on me.
At no time did I raise my voice or speak in anything other than a concerned tone. Yet I was subjected to condensation and rudeness when I was trying to bring a serious concern to their attention.
I will never again deal with this restaraunt. Although their food is excellent, and I had always experienced superior service, their attitude tonight was reprehensible and rude. They do not deserve the patronage of a discerning public. "
