Part of a small local chain, Cactus Jack's is one of my favorite restaurants, ever! The parent company owns steakhouses in the area, and CJ's is their offering of Tex-Mex in the Manchester area. The menu is fairly extensive, and their haddock tacos won an award with the Phantom Gourmet out of Boston. Their offerings aren't limited to Tex-Mex, though, they also offer some Cajun inspired dishes, as well as traditional American food. You can view their menu online through t-bones.com. The prices are very reasonable, making it a local favorite. Like an awful lot of restaurants in the area, they don't take reservations, but offer a call ahead waiting list, which you will want to use if you plan to go there on a Friday or Saturday night.

Chiggy's Place has great breakfast with the typical options on the menu. The prices are affordable. The atmosphere is quaint and friendly. Beware...it is not an upscale place and service reflects that – it's very casual. But if you're looking for a leisurely, good home breakfast, you won't be disappointed.

THE BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT IN THE NEW ENGLAND AREA (no kidding!). We go to Gills Indian Bar & Grill in Manchester, NH, whenever we have a chance. This is wonderful place to eat. We discovered it a year or so ago and since then we have been regulars. We like to go in the afternoon when they present a buffet lunch, which is 7.99 per person. Authentic Northern Indian, Punjabi; if you are familiar with this cuisine you will appreciate the Gill family-run restaurant. Mr. Gursharan S. Gill and his family put together a delectable luncheon buffet every day of the week. We are always greeted by the enthusiastic and respectful Mr. Gill himself, who expresses freely how this restaurant is his heart. Our experience here has us convinced that this is true. We watch as Mr. Gill greets all of his patrons and makes everyone feel welcome and at home. The food is sublime. On this buffet you will find interesting dal soups and warm coconut soup. A traditional array of condiments such as mango chutney, sweet tart tamarind, and cool spicy mint chutney. The naan breads come with the buffet and are always fresh. (If you get there and the naan has been eaten up from the buffet, he will bring it right to your table!) They offer a wonderful array of vegetable dishes, as well as a variety of meat dishes, including lamb curry, goat curry, chicken biryani, butter chicken and of course Tandoori chicken which is so authentic, tender and amazing! They also include at least four different salads to choose from, fresh garden salad, cachumber salad, fruit chat salad, and sometimes even a fresh tomato salad in a balsamic vinegar dressing can be found. We never tire of this buffet, as Mr. Gill is always introducing new and exciting dishes from his dinner menu to this wonderful lunch, yet certain things are always present, such as the Tandoori chicken and a traditional Kheer desert. Mr. Gill also makes a wonderful pot of fresh brewed Chai tea, and his Mango Lassi ; a cool refreshing and delightful mango smoothie that will knock your socks off! Going for lunch at Gill’s is a wonderful way to learn about authentic Indian cuisine and find what you like best, so that when you go for dinner, the offerings on the dinner menu are familiar. Everything is made fresh and Lunch is from 11:30 to 3:00. We recommend going early before everything gets eaten up! Gill’s Indian Bar & Grill is easy to find. Follow the signs to “Gill” stadium from anywhere on the south side of Manchester, Gill’s Indian Cuisine is across the street from the stadium at 245 Maple, in the plaza at the corner of Valley and Maple, Manchester, NH.

Found in the unexpected location of Manchester at the intersection of Maple St. and Valley St. at the Maple Valley Plaza is Gill's Indian Bar and Grill. Just follow the signs to Gill Stadium and you'll find it! On entering you are greeted by the friendly and enthusiastic business owner, Gursharan S. Gill backed with over 25 years of success in the restaurant business. Mr.
Gill worked for the Back Bay Restaurant Group based out of Boston at the restaurants Papa-Razzi, Joe's American Bar & Grill, Coach Grill, Atlantic Fish, and Charley's. His upbeat and positive demeanor put you in the right
mood for a wonderful culinary experience. His restaurant is a welcome addition to the cultural diversity of Manchester. Gill's combines a
delightful blend of aromatic spices and fresh ingredients to create a variety of dishes of authentic Northern Indian cuisine. We visited Gill's at lunchtime for his 28 course lunch buffet. The variety is amazing to find without traveling all the way to New York City. You may also order from the menu and get food to go, they have a fully stocked bar, Bollywood music from
the 1960s playing with flat screen television and Indian satellite videos for a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The Indian salads, breads and condiments all delight the sense of taste. It is refreshing to find a variety of vegetarian dishes along with chicken and lamb. The curry and chicken masala are among the favorites. The chicken Biryani is a wonderful refreshing blend of
aromatic spices that are perfectly balanced. Anyone who has ever experienced authentic Indian cooking will be pleased with this thoughtful and artful combination of spices. If you haven't experienced Indian cuisine before, this is a friendly atmosphere where you can feel comfortable asking questions and learning more about all the different kinds of Indian foods. This is a gem of a restaurant experience that can't be missed.

This restaurant has THE BEST breakfast as far as I am concerned. The home fries are the best, as well as the French toast and coffee. My husband and I have been to all of these and if you are looking for a great breakfast at a decent price, not greasy, you should try this place! We try others but always end up here every Sat. morning for our breakfast!! Hope you try it and enjoy it.

Richard's Bistro is a great place to find something different, yet something for every taste style...from sensational bistro style salads, to home made breads and desserts...as Richard puts it: Simple! Fresh! The prices range from $9 to $38 and The plates hold more food than most can handle at once...so it's a GREAT value. Owned by Chef Richard Vareschi (recipient of the Restaurant Industry's "Lifetime Achievement" Award), who has a long history of successful restaurant operations. Richard’s Bistro is Manchester’s only 5 star restaurant, and is now entering its 13th year of operation. Sept 2007, enter Matthew Provencher, the new head chef, previously of Baldwin's on Elm...he has already added some fantastic new options to the menu and is ready to step out from behind the grill to greet his guests. Be sure to tell them I sent you. You know, I've been coming to Richards for at least 8 years now and they are just like family. But they are like that to all who go there...the wait staff are very attentive and it's just a great place to eat when you want to feel like you have been treated well. Reservations are a good idea, but they will gladly hold a seat for you at the bar if you care to just stop by...

what a great find, fresh chicken seasoned just right, moist and meaty, the tenders are not what you would expect, they were BIG,moist, flavorful, i only had the same when i ate at the puritan, which is a legand in NH. this restaurant, and i do call it that because they go beyond, expectations with thier homemade coleslaw, and rolls. for desert we ate giffords ice cream. here again a BIG portion of a high quality .
