This impressive German castle, the largest in the country, took 40 years to build and represents the height of regional power. Destroyed during the war, the castle was rebuilt in the 1950s and forms a section of Mannheim University. Interesting sights include the knight's hall and the library. One of the most beautiful buildings in the region, the Schloss is not to be missed.
