More about Marion

Marion's most famous citizen was Warren G. Harding, 29th President of the United States; the city's Harding Memorial is the final resting place of President and Mrs. Harding. Visitors enjoy touring the restored Harding Home, the front porch of which was the location of many of Harding's campaign speeches in 1920. Marion is also known as the "Popcorn Capital of the World," and a popular attraction is the Wyandot Popcorn Museum in Heritage Hall under a large circus tent – several antique popcorn wagons are included in the collection. The historic Palace Theatre presents many cultural events in the atmosphere of a Moorish courtyard, complete with twinkling lights and drifting clouds, while the downtown district attracts folks with a number of shops and restaurants.
