5. Nashoba Valley Winery

BOLTON.   While many may think of think of central Massachusetts as exclusively "apple country," Nashoba Valley is going a long way toward dispelling that myth. This 50-plus acre former orchard has been producing wines since 1983 and, along the way, drawing praise from the likes of "Wine Enthusiast" and "Food & Wine." Guided tours and tasting are available on the weekends, and no reservations are required (group tours, given only during the work week, require reservations).
