MAKENA. Makena Beach State Park in Maui is made up of two separate beaches: Big Beach and Little Beach. These beaches are great for skim-boarding, body-surfing and boogie-boarding, but there are better destinations for snorkeling or surfing. The more popular of these two beaches in Maui, Big Beach, is surrounded by large trees and features picnic tables and restrooms.
