KAHULUI.   Skip the big Maui shopping malls if you’re looking for souvenirs or for goodies to enjoy on your stay. The Maui Swap Meet is a great place to find fresh produce, handmade crafts, sweets and beautiful tropical flowers. Island T-shirts and souvenirs, as well as handcrafted jewelry, can also be found cheaper than anywhere else at this Maui market. Admission is only 50 cents, making it a cheap way to spend a Saturday morning before hitting the beach.   (© 10Best)

My friends and I found our way to the swap meet w/only an hour to spare, but right away we were fascinated by the wares and the prices could not be beat! We did a lot on our vacation to Maui - snorkeling Molokini Crater, helicopter ride, Hana Highway drive, Luau at Old Lahaina - the swap meet was just as much fun. I found things here that I couldn't find in the mainland. The vendors were all very friendly and enjoyed the 'wheeling and dealing' aspect as much as I did. Going to this swap meet is a definite must. It's the BEST place to go for great deals on souvenirs!
