MAKAWAO.   For an artistic excursion, make a stop in the old town of Makawao on Maui. Art consisting of glass sculptures, vases and platters cover the shelves at Hot Island Glassblowing Studio and Gallery, and the artists are always hard at work, making this among the most exciting Maui shops. Watch them in action as they create art from molten glass. Many of the sculptures capture the colors and natural forms of Hawaii.
