MAYAGUEZ.
This spot is a Mayaguez tradition. Stop in for morning coffee and Viennese pastries or try the brazo gitano. This Puerto Rican rolled-cake treat is an island specialty. Sandwiches are available for lunch – eat at the restaurant or carry them with you. A variety of cheeses, ice cream and drinks (including excellent sangria) are available.

Uniquely Puerto Rican
I grew up a few blocks from the original Ricomini. Pastries after mass at the 'catedral' or a movie at the 'Riera' was a tradition.
Just returned from a visit to the island, with a stay in Ponce Every day started with breakfast at the Ricomini outside Hormiqueros -- a 30 min. drive. The coffee, the sandwiches, the pastry, the people ... only in Puerto Rico.
